Dennis Payne has retired from active expert witness practice, and no new expert witness engagements are being accepted at this time.

​After nearly 60 years of dedicated service in accident reconstruction and biomechanical trauma analysis, Dennis Payne has retired from active expert witness practice.

Dennis began his professional career with the Florida Highway Patrol, where he developed a strong foundation in accident investigation and reconstruction. In 1973, he was awarded Florida Highway Patrol Trooper of the Year for saving five lives—an early distinction that reflected both technical skill and personal commitment to public safety.

After his service with the state, Dennis took early retirement from the Florida Highway Patrol to pursue his passion for accident reconstruction as a full-time expert witness. He later earned a Master’s degree in Biomechanical Trauma, expanding his work to include injury causation and biomechanical analysis.

Over the decades, Dennis built a highly respected expert witness practice, serving attorneys and courts nationwide. He was also a dedicated educator, teaching accident reconstruction and related disciplines across the country—primarily to law enforcement professionals—while remaining at the forefront of emerging technology to enhance analytical accuracy, precision, and rigor.
