FORENSIC ARTS

Forensic Arts was founded on decades of experience in accident reconstruction and forensic analysis, providing technical documentation, scene investigation, and analytical insight into collision events.

This work was performed to determine both how a collision occurred and why it resulted in specific outcomes, combining reconstruction methodology with cause analysis.

The firm’s work reflects over a century of combined experience in accident investigation and reconstruction.

Dennis Payne has retired from active expert witness practice. This site now serves as a record of the work performed throughout his career.

SCENE  DATA  CAPTURE

The site of a collision contains details which are relevant to the reconstruction of any event.  The initial investigation must capture every detail that COULD become relevant at some future date.  It is not possible to know every detail that can be questioned until the question is asked.  The FARO 3D Laser Scanner can capture 976,000 points per second which translates into most every detail imaginable from a scene inspection.  It takes data points in complete darkness or inclement weather because it scans frequencies outside of normal vision.

Let us capture your EVIDENCE before it's GONE.

DIGITAL VIDEO AND STILL PICTURE ANALYSIS

Everyone knows a picture is worth a thousand words, but in this Digital Age, a picture or video is worth checking a thousand ways.

The process of encoding video and still pictures in digital format can easily be corrupted to the point of portraying a recorded event in a misleading way.
It’s important to KNOW that your video is portraying an event accurately and that the
digitally recorded data is interpreted properly.

That is why we offer services to provide our clients with the peace of mind of knowing that their information accurately portrays the events recorded.
DID YOU KNOW:          Most video recordings do NOT record each frame but take bits and pieces from other frames to fill in the blanks.

DID YOU KNOW:          In most cases, TIME is not accounted for accurately.

DID YOU KNOW:          Digital processing creates METADATA that can be used to compare fact vs fiction.

DID YOU KNOW:          The conversion process can change the scale or appearance of what
is SEEN.

DID YOU KNOW:          YOU may have the proof to your client’s claims if only YOU could see it.

DID YOU KNOW:          We can provide a NARRATIVE of this data to prove the veracity of the video or still picture.
